Dear Project of the Month Club Member,
During the 2020 war between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, tens of thousands of Armenians were displaced. About 40,000 refugees, including women, children, and the elderly, lost their homes as a result of bombings. And thousands of soldiers—mostly young people—were injured in the conflict.
Our October Project of the Month, Voluntary Service of Armenia - Republican Headquarters of Student Brigades, provides refugees with essential services and supports soldiers wounded in the conflict as they receive treatment in rehabilitation centers. Their project Help wounded soldiers and refugees (Karabakh war) connects professional psychologists and volunteers who provide specialized support to wounded soldiers and refugees. The project aims to help these individuals overcome stress, adapt, and socialize so they can return to a more normal life.
To learn more about how Voluntary Service of Armenia is aiding recovery and rehabilitation after conflict, check out their most recent report.
Thank you for your continued generosity and compassion!
With gratitude,
Donna Callejon
