Another year draws to an end...
By Christopher Skill | General Manager - Projects
This is the time of year that the children look forward to the most...Christmas time...giving & recieving...a time of joy and hope!
World AIDS Day was observed on Devcember 1st and the children as a group visited a nearby slum and did a skit...they love role playing after all. They have also been busy preparing for their mid term tests and also studying hard for the final term exams that approach coming March.
It has been observed that support for this project is very poor and this does not encourage the project team at all. We had expected a better response since the services we provide are essential, life supporting and life changing.
We hope and appeal to all our donors that they may contribute during this season as it is a very special time and this projects genuinely has urgent needs & requirements.
We wish all those who have contributed a Merry Xmas & A Happy New Year!

In the earlier report we had shared about Deepti...about how she came to be with the Foundation and what she is doing now...in short her success story!
Now Deepti is on the threshold of another major life changing milestone of her life...she has found her partner and come Sunday 15th September 2013 they will tie the knot.
All at the Foundation...kids & staff alike are thrilled for she is the first child to get married!
This is also a very meaningful development for all the other children and gives them hope of a better and brighter future beyond the confines of the Foundation!

Manasa's fight against all odds!
By Christopher Skill | General Manager - Projects

Celebrating her birthday
Manasa was 6 years old when she arrived at the Foundation in late 2008. Prior to that she lost her father to AIDS in 2007 and soon after her mother as well. Despite an extended family no one was willing to look after her due to being HIV+ve. When she was admitted to the Foundation she was not in the best of health and very quickly her immune status was assessed and she was started on highly active retroviral therapy however due to immune reconstitution she came down with many infections the most serious of them being TB & Cryptococcal Meningitis with hydrocephalus in 2010. This almost took her life and though she recovered she was severely affected, as she could not stand, balance or walk. In fact the doctors said that she might not recover.
However she is a fighter and she did recover though there are many disadvantages and today on the verge of joining a school for children with special needs as she has lost 4 years of formal school.
The assistance received towards this project listed on Global Giving goes towards meeting the needs of such children. From time of posting till date a total of US $2529 have been received from 27 contributors. During the months of Jan, March & May 2013 US $ 323, 506 & 1406 have been disbursed to the project.
The Foundation and all the kids say a “Big Thank You”
