We have been blazing new trails out here at Happy Trails Riding Center this summer. We added a new instructor who will be offering a fall class on equine assisted learning. The focus will be on trust and confidence building. We wrote a grant and sent one of our volunteers who has disabilities for training to help as an assistant instructor in our lessons. He has been an inspiration to many of our riders and is helping a lot!
In addition to our therapeutic riding classes, we had our music therapy and riding camp, movie night and ride-a-thon this summer and are looking forward to a fall. We have a barn dance for people with disabilities and special needs planned for September 14th with the City of West Linn Parks and our fall pumpkin carving and riding camp planned for October. Our fall benefit, "Cowboy Casino" will be held on Friday, October 18th at the Ambridge Event Center in Portland - we hope you can join us!
Thanks to globalgiving for helping make our programs possible. The smiles on our riders faces are proof that together we are up to great things.
Happy Trails!
