Great things are happening at Happy Trails Riding Center this summer! Our classes are filled with people learning basic horsemanship and riding. Our summer camp, Horses "n" Harmony will be held on Saturday, June 29th. Camp participants will ride, play music with a music therapist and paint a hand drum to take home. Our movie night and our ride-a-thon will be in July & August. With your help, we continue to provide riding and various social opportunities for people with disabilities and special needs.
We are happy to report we have added another certiified riding instructor who will teach Therapeutic Riding as well as Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) emphasizing service to At Risk/ Troubled Youth. EAL participants build self esteem & confidence while learning to work with horses. The sensitivity of horses to people’s emotional and physical states provide opportunities for grounding and healing. No prior experience with horses is necessary, participants work on the ground interacting with horses. EAL is a fun and supportive way for participants to grow personally while learning critical life and communication skills. We are also in the process of training an assistant instructor to help with our lessons.
