Project #13456

Prevent Infertility Lectures for HighSchool Pupils

by CHEN - Patient Fertility Association

The condom is not only for pregnancy prevents - it prevents STD's as well as Hepatitis and HIV-AIDS. This project main goal is to increase awareness to STD's and HIV-AIDS prevention to youth.. Youth in Israel as well as in the other parts of the globe are doing sex. In many cases youth do not aware of the HIV-AIDS problem and other STD's that might spread if a condom is not used. We in CHEN see the immediate connection between prevent STDs and fertility.

30% of infertile couples are mechanical infertility caused by untreated STD's. The approx. number is 50'000 couples. The best way to prevent this is to increase awareness in youth to use a condom in random sex. Lectures in high school will increase the awareness and hopefully reduce the number of infertile couples in Israel.

Using a condom in random sex will reduce the transmitting of STD's including AIDS and will reduce the % of mechanical infertility that such diseases caused.

Long-Term Impact

The long term affect is well seen in such a project. We invest in prevention for the long term time of about 10 years. Education for prevention is a long term activity. Every year we lecture to 5000 pupils that hopefully will use a condom and prevent AIDS and other STDs.These 5000 pupils will become 10000 while married.
