Free Cleft Surgery for 400 Filipino Children

Phillipines Update

Stats: • 84.5 Million people • 4,364 cleft births/year* • Among developing countries, ranks 8th in the number of cleft births per year. • 28 Million people living below the poverty line • ½ of the population lives on less than $2/day (47.5%)

*(This year we provided 3,400 surgeries in the Philippines. Next year – for the first time ever – we will provide cleft surgery for the number of children born each year with clefts and begin to “chip away” at the backlog, estimated at over 125,000)
