It’s hard to believe that the year is already half way gone! I am ahead of schedule on my miles for the year, with >2800 miles logged year to date. We are in the midst of kicking of a massive project in South Africa, with a major focus on rehabilitation of the land, removal of fences and other physical boundaries, removal of damns, and replanting of native plants, all in a effort to reopen the historic migration routes for all the animals that once considered these lands to be their home.
It’s an incredibly multi faceted project that spans across chunks of land that are absolutely huge. The Helpingrhinos Rhino Strongholds is a major portion of the work, and tons of other plants and animals will eventually benefit from the project.
2021 is proving to be another challenging year in regards to raising much needed funds to keep our very important projects and partner organizations alive. The continued downturn in tourism makes our fundraising more important than ever before.
