During this period PAZalobien has reached children in 27 public schools in the city, Bello, and 1 in Medellin.
2,816 children in these public schools have now been living the PAZalobien methodology in their classrooms. Through Pazalobien they have strengthened life skills such as resolution of conflict, empathy and decisión-making and creative and critical thought to name a few.
In order to reach these children, 130 teachers have participated in Mi Sangre’s train-the-trainer program, to convert their classrooms in democratic spaces where citizenship can be developed in children. After receiving this training followed by individual, group and virtual coaching, 104 of those same teachers are now implementing PAZalobien of their own initiative in their classrooms.
Mi Sangre is also opening spaces for children to participate at the community and family levels by leading workshops with 103 adults around the right of participation of children and young people.
Through this strategy, and using art and play as pedagogical tools, we are giving children skills so that they become key players in Colombia’s peace-building process and can prevent risks to themselves and their communities.
