Contribute to build a peace culture in Colombia

During this period the Mi Sangre Foundation worked with children, teachers and their families in the development of life skills and citizenship, with the aim of building peace communities. The Foundation worked with over 30 public schools, over 2,000 children, over 100 parents, over 12 youth leaders, and over 30 teachers.

Through this process the Mi Sangre team carried out activities and processes to build safe environments for children in vulnerable communities with the aim of creating the conditions for safe spaces that allow children and adolescents to live their rights as citizens and experience a deep participation in the building of peaceful societies.

In order to do this we carried out 4 lines of action:

• A transfer of the methodology, Pazalobien, which aims, through art and play, to train teachers and students on life skills
• Accompanying teachers in their classrooms as they implement the Pazalobien methodology.
• Working with families through the Pazalobien methodology
• A methodological transfer of Pazalobien to children and youth leaders.

These lines of action were achieved through workshops with an emphasis on team work, coexistence and citizenship, life skills such as empathy, peaceful resolution of conflict, self-understanding, decision making, creative and critical thinking. Workshops with parents were also held to raise awareness around good child-raising practices.

Using tools such as graffiti, puppets, games and artistic activities the community was empowered to care not just for themselves and their families, but for the world that surrounds them. 

We are constructing peace in Urabá!

From February of the present year, more than 400 young people of this region are formed as Leaders of Cambio, thanks to the project " Young people Urabá, a sea of opportunities " that realizes the Foundation Mi Sangre in cocreation with the Government of Antioquia to give it continuity to the process that one was coming realizing in the Department of generating protective environments for children, girls, teenagers and young people, framed in the strategy                     "Anticipating is Better".

This initiative looks that the young people develop skills of leadership and undertaking socially, in order that empoderen of them role like agents of change in the communities of their region.

"Young people from Urabá, a sea of opportunities" they are developing with the component " Líderes de Cambio" of the methodology Pazalobien, formulated by Mi Sangre, who takes as pillars the innovation, the creativity and the participation; looking that the participants go deeply into different social fields and recognize the collaborative work as a significant element to the moment to create.

Across this formative process there invites to the young persons of Apartadó, Traps, Carepa, Chigorodó, Mutatá, Necoclí, San Juan of Urabá, San Pedro of Urabá and Turbocharger, all municipalities of Antioquia, to reconsidering the environment and generating ideas, actions, processes and projects of change that generate social impact in their community.

¡Estamos construyendo paz en Urabá!

Desde febrero del presente año, más de 400 jóvenes de esta región se están formando como Líderes de Cambio, gracias al proyecto “Jóvenes Urabá, un mar de oportunidades” que está realizando la Fundación Mi Sangre en cocreación con la Gobernación de Antioquia para darle continuidad al proceso que se venía realizando en el Departamento de generar entornos protectores para niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes, enmarcado en la estrategia “Prevenir es Mejor”.

Esta iniciativa busca que los jóvenes desarrollen habilidades de liderazgo y emprendimiento social, para que se empoderen de su rol como agentes de cambio en las comunidades de su región.

“Jóvenes Urabá, un mar de oportunidades” se está desarrollando con el componente “Líderes de Cambio” de la metodologíaPazalobien, formulada por Mi Sangre, el cual tiene como pilares la innovación , la creatividad y la participación; buscando que los participantes ahonden en diferentes campos sociales y reconozcan el trabajo colaborativo como un elemento significativo al momento crear.

A través de este proceso formativo se invita a los jóvenes de Apartadó, Arboletes, Carepa, Chigorodó, Mutatá, Necoclí, San Juan de Urabá, San Pedro de Urabá y Turbo, todos municipios de Antioquia, a repensar el entorno y generar ideas, acciones, procesos y proyectos de cambio que generen impacto social en su comunidad.
