Project name:Patronage support (Support for the elderly)

Reporting period: from 01.05.2024 to 31.08.2024

The Patronage project continues to care for the elderly in the city of Kharkiv, providing them with humanitarian assistance and emotional support.

Our main target audience:

  • People under 70 who have a disability or care for a person with a disability.
  • People 70+ who have relatives who are not nearby (abroad/occupied territories/other parts of Ukraine)
  • People 70+ who are single

In 2024, the number of our beneficiaries increased due to the number of elderly people aged 60+ who are wards of territorial centers for the provision of social services in Kharkiv

In the course of the project, the project partnered with 2 territorial centers of the city of Kharkiv: Nemyshlyanskyi and Kyivskyi, and the support center for IDPs from the city of Bakhmut.

In total, the project covered more than 1,300 unique beneficiaries

During the project, goods were purchased from which 3,395 humanitarian kits were created (see the table below for the composition), which were distributed:

  • 400 elder people received 5 humanitarian packages (1 per month)
  • 300 elder people received 2 humanitarian packages (1 per 3 month)
  • 240 - elder IDPs from the Bakhmut support center received 2 humanitarian packages (1 per 3 month)
  • 315 - elder IDPs from Vovchansk, Kup'yansk, Northern Saltivka, living in hostels in Kharkiv

Educational and socialization activities were conducted on the basis of territorial centers for the provision of social services

  • 3 group classes on psychological support were attended by 33 people
  • 1 tea party with live music and dancing by 18 people
  • a course of Georgian dance classes - 8 classes for 12 people
  • Ukrainian language course - 8 classes - 7 people
  • digital literacy course - 12 classes - 13 people
