This project will provide remote therapy sessions to 28 children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from our Special Education Program and remote parent training during the COVID-19 pandemic. These sessions are key to helping children and young adults reinforce already achieved skills and abilities while working towards new goals.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our facilities remain closed, most of the parents are out of work and are struggling to pay for food and housing. Therefore, most lack resources to pay for their child's school and therapy sessions. This has resulted in our organization receiving almost no income since April 2020. Without constant schooling and therapy sessions, many children risk having their skills setback.
By having funds to continue operating we will be able to carry on providing remote therapy sessions and parent training. These sessions are key to helping children and young adults reinforce already achieved skills and abilities while working towards new goals.
By continuing to provide therapy sessions, we are reducing the likelihood that childrens skills and abilities will setback. By assisting with operating costs, you are assuring that we will be able to continue helping children and young adults with autism during and long after the COVID-19 crisis is over.
