Two students of Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Northwest Univeristy conducted their thesis on the subject “Indigenous knowledge of ethnic people on the use of medicinal plants in Chieng Xuan commune, Van Ho district”. In 8 days working in the commune by interviewing villagers, traditional healers in the communes the students were able to compile a list of 100 medicinal plants used in the area as well as the information about the use of the plants by local people.
Two students of Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Northwest Univeristy conducted thesis study on ecological characteristics and distribution of the rare conifer plant Amentotaxus argotaenia in Hang Kia – Pa Co and Xuan Nha Nature Reserve. With the support of PanNature’s field staff, participating students have conduct surveys along 12 forest lines during 10 days working in the field. They found 20 sites of occurrence for the plant, collected specimens and made description of the habitats, ecological conditions of each sites.
The collected information by the students will be processed and analized to write their graduate thesis.
