Winter 2016 brings difficulty for food security for Flood Victims of 2014 & 2015

Mrs. Mariam Navoo visited some villages affected by floods in the past yeasr 2014 & 2015 to know the update situation of the women and children and come to know that the WINTER 2016 bring difficulty for women and children food security. Some of the families did not have enough food for their women and children.
For the first quarter 2016, AHD plans to support 300 families with food and health package to poor families, some 10 medical camps also will be organized.

Total funds needed US $ 15,000/= to support 300 families with food and medical support. We at AHD hopeful for this support from Global Giving existing donors and new ones. For more please feel free to contact us at ahdpak@gmail.com

Women & Children facing malnutrition problems in flood sffected areas of Lower Sindh

Families affected by floods 2015 earlier in Aug to Sept now facing food shortage problems & shelter problems, they don’t have proper shelter and food arrangements. Hundreds of families working outside their villages and houses and some 67 families working in Sujawal areas where they ding laborer for cutting rice crop but their women and children facing difficult situation, sleeping on ground without any shelter in open lands or roads, we targeted some families and want to support them with food ration and medical help.

Flooding in Pakistan results Thousands of families IDPs

Pakistan again in the year 2015 hit by Floods all over the country, KPK, Punjab & Sindh affected through recent floods. Sukkur, Khairpur, Nawabshah, Badin, Thatta, Skikarpure Districts mostly affected by the floods and heavy rain spell. So far 102 killed by flash floods and hundreds of villages submerged in flood water, AHD working area Badin & Thatta is also affected by floods and heavy rain during 24-26 July results flooding hundreds of villages in Badin & Thatta districts.

Women & children affected mostly during the floods, Food & Medical aid needed for the flood victims, AHD staff visited flood affected areas and participated in rescue activities, flood victims needed support for food and medical.

Rural women facing shortage of food and medical aid

During the visit of AHD female staff in UC Budho Kambrani of Badin district, women facing vulnerability regarding the FOOD & MEDICAL AID, some women share that due to water shortage and poverty they did not cultivated crops since last 2 years and they now in problem to meet medical & health needs as they become poor due to floods and drought conditions since 2011 to onwards.

Medical and women health facilities needed at urgent , in this regard AHD female staff will organize quick medical camps and free medical for 10 villages in this quarter, we need support and quick donation to reach out 500 families in next quarter, we hope some quick support form you all, our this project is slow in raising funds, we hope after reading this report will help us for next quarter

10 - Medical & Health Awareness Sessions conducted in 250 Mother during Dec to Feb 2015

AHD staff conducted medical and health awareness sessions in some 250 mothers and targeted some 12 villages in Jati area of district Sujawal during Dec 2014 to Feb 2015.  During Medical & health Awareness sessions it was observed that some 250 Mother and families looking health facilities, health of said women is poor and facing food shortage and health facilities. The nearby Basic Health units not working or closed and women travel 10-22 km to reach at Jati city Taluka Hospital and some time during travel they got more sick and death happens.  AHD wants to complete the Mother & Child Health Center at Master Sadiq Goth Jati, some 70% work has been completed and now only 30 % work remaining in completion of AHD Mother & Child Health Center near Jati. MCH Center is about 19 km away from main city Jati and will cover about 5000 families of 3 UCs 1. Sereblaro, 2. Khanto & 3. Raj Malik. We hope quick donation to complete AHD MCH Center functional in first quarter of the 2015. The total funds needed for roof and equipments only 2,500 US $. We
