Pain relief medication for children with cancer

Her work is essential, not only because of the logistics involved in each delivery, but also because of what it means for each child and their family: relief, support, and continuity of treatment.

“It's a big responsibility. Helping a child with these supplies also means bringing relief to their family. I make sure our medicine cabinet is always stocked for the next treatment period,” she says. She adds, with emotion: “When you see a child in pain... as an adult, sometimes you can't even stand discomfort. That's when you really realize the weight of this work and how important it is.”

Not all medication required by children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment can be provided by the Chilean State, some of them are very important to treat pain, that is why Fundación Nuestros Hijos provides them with the indications of the treating physician doctor, and the medication that te patient needs. In 2024, we were able to deliver $2,860,000 chilean pesos in pain relief medication for childhood cancer patients.
