In this delicate stage, psychological accompaniment it is also provided to the whole family. The Palliative Care Model is being replicated in 4 Latin American countries.
Fundacion Nuestros Hijos provides since 1991, free integral support to disadvantaged children with cancer in order to increase their life expectancy, improve their quality of life, and decrease the psychosocial impact of the illness. We help through the Public Health Service and the 11 cancer units nationwide. Five hundred new cases are diagnosed each year in Chile and one thousand children being treated annually. We provide housing, two intra-hospital schools, social services, etc.
