The Ministry of Panchayati Raj declared Raebareli is one of the 250th most backward districts out of 640 districts. According to the census of 20011 Raebareli has literacy rate of 69.04% which is below than literacy of India which is 74.04%. This region has been below on development index. Female Litereracy in rural area is a mere just 30%. Project will address the problem of lack of voice of deprived/excluded, at local as well district and state level, for both Access and Quality of education.
The project is having focused intervention with children of 30 schools by doing child friendly activities to enhance their learning level and improve teaching practices of teachers.Capacity building of school management committee, PRI members, teachers and civil society members is being done to track implementation of RTE in the state.Strategic objective is to bring their capacity, demonstrating better practices & building system of mutual and local accountability.
In long term the schools in the project area will be made RTE compliant as per the guideline of the act. Teachers will become skilled to teach in a child friendly approach by creating fear free environment in the class. With the capacity building and empowerment of school management committees planning of school will be done by parents as per the local need of the school. This will lead to community engagement and ownership of neighbor schools.With this learning level of children will improve.
