Project Report | Oct 16, 2017
Continued work with limited funds at TOCOP

By Kate warren | Veterenary nurse

The team here in North Sumatra are continueing efforts to support the Orangutans of Tapanulli with the TOCOP project.

Due to limited funds the team have chosen to focus on working on the land at the station camp. Some progress on the ground is that our team have planted avocado trees and durian trees amongst the current agroforestry plots there.

Once the organjsation has secured some more donations, work on continueing the patrol path and training patrol staff may continue.

The team plans to do a field visit in the next coming week to check in on the local community there and keep a positive presence. This will involve community outreach and education about the importance of forest preservation and orangutans, with any questions or queries being able to be voiced.

The work bei g done here on the ground would not be possible without the continued donations from yourself. A little can go a long way here and will breatly benefit Indonesias Forests and Wildlife.

From the team on the ground here, thankyou!
