This project will develop a solution that is vital to areas with unreliable access to electricity and water. Our Air-to-Electricity and Water Microgrid is a dual mode resource extraction solution that uses compressed air to produce electricity and to harvest airborne moisture for drinking. This solution can be used to generate onsite high-density electricity in areas with unreliable grid, and can provide water when there is a shortage during an emergency.
There are many problems that continue to plague the energy sector. Access to consistent power is vital for all countries - developing or other. Problems include 1) outdated and overstretched power grid, 2) high feed line costs, 3) lack in reliable onsite access to power, even in developing countries, and 4) high utility costs, and 5) lack in efficient designs. Reliance on combustibles is an expensive habit, particularly since these systems are not designed to be long-term solutions for energy.
1. Air is a 24/7-accessible resource on the surface of the Earth, so energy and water can be harvested anywhere, at anytime, in all weather conditions. 2. Our system is low cost and provides relief from existing supply costs that continue to plague combustible systems like fossil fuels and natural gas. 3. Our energy system works with all renewables to concentrate high-density energy, rather than "trickle energy", to the consumer. 4. Air is relatively cheap at $.05 per kwh usage
We will use the funds to build a scalable 70W 140WH handheld or backpack-sized power unit with NYU, our R&D partner, so consumers - tribes, outdoor enthusiasts, Military, etc - can power their pocket tech items while on the go at 3 times the high power density of a solar packpack . This scalable model can then be introduced to potential investors and strategic partners to bring it to mainstream media so everyone can enjoy the power of air energizing and hydrating their entire World.
