We are looking to build our first office space in Bon-Repos, Haiti. We are growing and we are in need of office space for our new Program Director to be able to meet with our participants. Having this space will allow us to have our own and a safe space where we can meet with our staff, meet with parents of our sponsored children & able to lead meetings with our university students as well as with our local partners. Having a space will solve the issue we have to store participant's information.
We currently use space at a local school and local church during late evening hours. Because the space that is available to us is busy from morning to late afternoon hours, Jou Nouvo's staff and participants are in difficulty to meet at a flexible time when parents are available. The problem also is that the space we use now is wide open- there is no privacy-there is no space available to us to keep a file cabinet--and therefore we are not able to store our participants' data in a safe place.
If given the chance to build our own office space, our new program director will be able to plan accordingly and meet on regular basis with staff, parents, and local partners. Although our services are well know by many in the community, we believe many more other community members will have the opportunity to know who, what, why, and where we do offer our programs when Jou Nouvo has the office space, which give us visibility or more of a presence to connect with more people on a regular basis.
Potential long-term impact would be a step forward-an opportunity of growth for Jou Nouvo as an organization, which has been working for years with its partners in the community of Bon-Repos. Having a space, JN would become a more stable and accessible partner, and as an organization, JN would be in a better position to be more of an active provider. Long-term impact is to ensure there's structure in place in order for JN services are being provided in a safe and consistent manner now & future.
