BOXERS- sick, injured & distressed need your help

by Northwest Boxer Rescue
Vetted

Summary

Our volunteer foster families open their homes to Boxers suffering from various injuries and illnesses along with some who are distressed from treatment or living conditions. These pups take extra care, and extended time, to return to a state of wellness and positive social behavior. Related expenditures come from vet visits, prescriptions, over the counter supplements and behavioral assistance. Financial support ensures we can continue our work. Challenge

Dogs left with serious injuries or infections affect our communities in various ways. Mange, kennel cough and heart worm are a few examples of conditions highly contagious to other dogs. Injured dogs can be a danger to other animals and humans as they try to protect themselves via seemingly aggressive actions. Our all volunteer organization provides a quiet, loving home to recuperate. We take in just over 40 dogs a month throughout Northern CA, OR, WA, ID and MT.

Solution

Taking these dogs in and providing treatment lessens the spread of contagious ailments and provides immediate attention to injuries. Many dogs come to us unhealthy and quick treatment is the fix. Others have serious medical issues which have been left untreated and will take considerable time to correct. Regular vet care for our healthy Boxers awaiting adoption is considerable. Taking in the gravely ill and inured Boxer requires significant funding support. You can be a part of their success.

Long-Term Impact

NWBR was established for and committed to rescuing, healing and re-homing Boxers. This in itself assists our communities by lessening the burden on animal shelters, reduces loose dog population, stops the spread of illness and educates on adopting vs buying from breeders. Our Boxers provide responsible adopting families with invaluable, unconditional love and memories. The sharing of this happiness, in turn, creates conversation on the need for rescue and adoption of Boxers.
