Challenge

Based on our rapid assessment in the Ghazni, Wardak and Kabul provinces during August 2019. Almost 1120 IDPs children were identified as most vulnerable living with families or relatives in or around main cities. These children are most vulnerable displaced with their families due to war in their areas and are facing 2 major problems. Malnutrition and lack of food for children and lack of hygiene and education opportunities. Lack of shelter and protection put them in very unfavorable conditions.

Solution

DELO will provide targeted children with energy biscuits and milk on daily basis for 6 months and establish 3-5 child friendly spaces and 15 community classes. DELO intervention will include below major actions. 1. Providing targeted children with energy biscuits and milk on daily basis 2. Establishing the 3-5 child friendly spaces with sports and learning services in both cities. 3. Conducting at least 10-15 community based education and literacy classes for the children in both locations.

Long-Term Impact

The project will make sure that targeted children have enough food and nutrition to grow. The 3-5 child friendly spaces are established in both cities and serve as learning and physical activities center for the children. 3. The targeted children have access to learning and literacy through 10-15 community based education classes in different locations of Ghazni and Maidan Shaher and Kabul IDPs camps.
