The project Nurturing with love strengthens the integral development of 150 children of early childhood, their families and community mothers in Guachene and Caloto-Cauca, Colombia, belonging to an economically and socially vulnerable population. In order to improve their mental and emotional health, nutrition and healthy habits, tools are implemented focused on children through recreational workshops, experiential, interventions, psychosocial care, pedagogical activities and Family integration.
In 2018, 36% of Colombian children suffered death from malnutrition due to low basic sanitation conditions, food shortages, diets with deficient vitamins and minerals, ignorance of healthy habits and food hygiene. A child with food problems has little cognitive capacity, under intellectual performance and psychomotor development problems. In addition, the rest of the family is also affected, the average child per household is 2 which makes it difficult to provide a good quality of life to all.
Nurturing with love will provide integral attention from the Being spanning the body, mind and spirit transversally, aiming to impact 150 children and their families on issues related to personal care, food hygiene, mental and emotional health through play, playfulness and art. A good diet is important as well as knowing and implementing healthy habits.
The project will directly impact 150 children, their families and educational agents, which contributes to mental health and well-being, as processes that emphasize the importance of good nutrition, healthy habits and emotional management. Our legacy will be to leave "Toolboxes about healthy living" built between them to be used in similar situations or in their daily lives.
