Next year, we would like to open a community civic center for our youth. This new building would give them regular access to fitness classes and new programs we plan to introduce. It would include a gym for our fitness programs. This building would service 50-60 children from all over our city. These programs would include basketball, boxing and more.
According to the US Census, the average household in Trenton, NJ makes $35,524. This means that Trenton families take home over $25,000 less than the average US family. They also report that, in our city, at least 27.3% of the citizens are living in poverty.
This project will help give families and youth in our community a safe haven where they have access to free academic and professional resources. Men for H.O.P.E provides underserved families with essential items, donations, as well as, professional and academic resources. During our programs, we also provide free meals and transportation for our participants. We also give them free academic trips out-of-state, fitness activities and internet access.
This project will help to provide children with access to fitness and health programs and more.
