The country is in the fifth month of lockdown because of the coronavirus and, now the virus is spreading faster than never before. Due to this, especially the families in rural Nepal who rely on the income from the daily labouring in factory and paddy-field are in an extremely difficult situation. Besides that, the flood triggered by the heavy monsoon has added an extra problem to the families. This project will help the families and lead them to longer-term recovery.
Nepal has been in lockdown for five months because of the coronavirus and the spread of the virus was minimal. But now, it is spreading like never before. More people are dying by the lockdown than the virus. Besides that, the flash flood triggered by the heavy monsoon has damaged homes, crops and displaced many families. It feels like all the problems in the world have arrived at once for the families. Support from the govt and others are controversial and it doesn't reach to the neediest ones.
We aim to reach the neediest ones in the rural villages of Nepal and help them with emergency supplies, like food and medicine so that they can survive through this difficult situation. We will also help them towards a longer-term recovery by paying for the medical expenses, creating livelihood opportunities, rebuilding the damaged homes and re-establishing the displaced families.
The poorest of the poor families in the rural villages of Nepal has been hit and will be hit hardest by the global coronavirus pandemic and the seasonal flash flood. Without any support, the families will be in a venerable situation and will be pushed towards a deeper and harder poverty. This project will save many lives and rescue the families from this difficult situation in the short and long term.
