We had a successful Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign, raising over $3,000 for the project in just a few days!
Planning for the 2019 NBA Math Hoops National Championship is already well underway, and we’re excited to announce that the Golden State Warriors will be hosting for the second time! The event will return to the Bay Area for the first time since 2017, when the team hosted the first ever National Championship.
The Warriors are one of our most committed partners across the league, and had already upped their support for Math Hoops programming in the Bay Area this season, which will be the fifth year of programming in the region. The season is off to a great start: This past week, the Warriors hosted the first local NBA Math Hoops Live event of the season at the team’s practice facility in Oakland. Cal Women’s Basketball Associate Head Coach (and former WNBA player) Charmin Smith joined students from Laurel Dell Elementary in San Rafael, CA and Fred T. Korematsu Discovery Academy in Oakland for an afternoon of competition and fun.
Help spread the word and stay tuned for more updates from the Bay Area as we approach National Championship weekend in May!
