Aloha friends,
We are excited to announce upcoming local projects as part of our broader commitment to planting fruit and native trees all across Hawai'i Island. This summer, we will be planting dozens of new fruit trees with Hawaiian schools and nonprofits, each of which shares our belief in the power of fruit trees. These trees are critical in supporting healthy and nourished communities, just like one of our participants explained in their application to FTPF's orchard grant program:
"Our orchard will provide healthy, fresh fruit for our community that struggles with obesity, diabetes and other nutrition-related diseases. We are a Farm to School site that is working to provide local fruits and vegetables to our students and cafeteria to encourage healthy eating and local farm sustainability as well as public education of good nutrition."
If you are able, please come join us on island throughout the month of August or consider donating today to support this important work. We are so grateful for the support of people like you who share our vision for a healthy and abundant future for all Hawai'i Island residents!
Mahalo nui loa,
The FTPF Team
