This project is a continuation of my yoga journey that i started 4 years ago. The aim is two-folded, it will help me on a personal level develop my yoga skills, and take good care of myself. Being a Yoga teacher in Palestine, where there are not many Yoga teachers, requires me to be a continuous student too. The second aim is that this project will also help me help others. Through Yoga i reach out and work with many Palestinian fellows including activists, traumatized women, girls and kids.
We live in a time where it's easy to lose hope and trust, we experience stress and trauma daily, leading to emotional, physical and mental suffering. Losing hope in the situation, means losing hope in the self, not being able to share the gifts we all have, and disconnecting from our inner strength. As a community we are losing some of the major values, like kindness, love and happiness. All these values are becoming dependent, while they are the core of our beings, existing deeply inside of us
Yoga & Meditation are one of the major tools we use in our aspiration to help our community members see their inner light and keep the hope for a better future. These tools will be targeting: Young girls who have gone through imprisonment to release trauma and reconnect to themselves. Offer wellbeing tools for political activists to release tension and stress. Bring more mind-body awareness to girls in marginalized communities. Promote a culture of self care among women, men and kids.
More experienced and trained Yoga teachers can better influence community members and inspire them become stronger by honoring their bodies, minds and spirits even in a challenging life. Leading to creating a healthy, safe and hopeful community that believes in peace, justice and equality based on values of inner love, bliss & freedom contributing directly to personal transformation as it digs deeper inwards into the essence of who we are then transfer it outwards.
