We aim to support the children who live in areas affected by the armed conflict in the Colombian Pacific Coast so that they can fulfill their dreams. Children grow up without access to potable water, electric energy and sewerage and many cannot go to school. They are exposed to risk situations such as abuse, sexual exploitation, mistreatment or abandonment. With your help we are going to provide them with spaces where they can sing, dance, practice sports, play, learn and live a happy childhood
The Colombian Pacific is one of the regions in the Country with historical presence of armed conflict. This situation, added to other social problems such as poverty, low access to basic services and weak institutions make the population live in vulnerable conditions. Women and children are the most vulnerable population and are exposed to risks, like recruitment and use by armed groups and other child abuses.
This initiative seeks to strengthen children's care and protection skills through a comprehensive accompaniment reducing and mitigating the risks to which they are exposed. The strategy proposes activities for the management of free time. This, includes structured artistic, sports and cultural workshops. With this project, girls and boys will have a meaningful participation in their communitiies while access to play and learning a spaces having options different to the war.
Children will strengthen their self-protection skills and will have an active role in the social transformation of their territories. Furthermore, they will be agents of change and leaders in peace building processes in their community.
