The project promotes the survival, growth, well being, development and protection of 100 children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS,Poverty and other social economic factors and disasters in Zomba.The trust of the project is to develop and implement an integrated safety net system that will deliver multifaceted care and support packages at household level.The quality and effectiveness of the response will be guided by periodic monitoring and evaluation exercises.
The children of Malawi are under threat. today's HIV/AIDS pandemic and severe poverty have put at risk the children.With the increase in parental deaths due to HIV/AIDS, the number of orphans has risen dramatically, subjecting these children to emotional and physical neglect, such as a lack of love, care and protection. They are all too frequently denied access to essential services. Many live with additional effects and are subjected to increased risks of economic and sexual exploitation.
The project marks a recognized need for practical steps of cooperation that will ensure the rights of all OVC are fully met within the community. Will outlines clear actions to be taken to promote the survival, growth, well being , development and protection of OVC.This is a direct linkages to Poverty reduction Strategy paper, National HIV/AIDS Action Framework, the monitoring and Evaluation and on going in areas of Health, HIV/AIDS, Education, Child protection, Advocacy and Social Mobilization
The project will promote an environment in which 100 orphans and other vulnerable children will adequately cared for, supported and protected physically, psychologically, materially, socially, morally,spiritually, and legally to grow and develop to their full potential
