Key Changes Therapy Services plans to provide arts-based therapies to South Carolina children with special needs who are struggling in traditional therapies.
In South Carolina, disabled children in need of therapy often sit on wait lists for months, if not years. This, in addition to the abysmal pay rates for ABA therapists, means that children are not receiving enough treatment to meet their needs.
This project will provide allow board-certified music therapists to provide free or low-cost services to children who are being underserved due to these gaps in care. As a discipline that addresses goals in all areas of functioning, outcomes in global functioning are positive and generalize well to non-therapy setting environments.
This project will allow children in need of therapy services to receive the support that they need to reach their functioning potential and a chance at being able to live and work independently.
