The Musik Bewegt Foundation runs an online donation platform and supports a variety of non-profit purposes (52 paragraph 2AO) and particular projects that use music as a tool to make a change, i.e. in the areas of education, youth, integration or health. Project example: Hangarmusik, a project that helps refugee children to learn an instrument as well as the language and play in an orchestra togehter with other kids from Berlin.
Musicians have been supporting social projects far beyond their purely artistic activities for a long time. And often there is a general lack of trust in social welfare and social projects, because often donations have not been used as they were meant to be and processes are not working transparent enough or people think what difference can they make with only a little amount. We want to know, if our support reaches those in need and makes a change.
This is were Musik Bewegt creates clarity, offering a common donation platform and contact point for musicians, fans and supporters who want to do good together. There is a growing recognition and appreciation of the wider social benefits that music entails. A targeted use of music can help to prevent violence, foster integration proccesses, enhance social, learning and expression skills and take a key role in identity building processes.
With the platform musik-bewegt.de we present and support a variety of different social projects. We forward 100% of the donation without any deducation. The platform also provides detailed information about the specific needs and requirements of the individual project that the donation will contribute to and also informs its supporters of what could be moved with donations. Togehter we are louder. A Small Donation = A Big Beat.
