We are offering two workshops in the coming weeks to train San Francisco teachers to use music in their classrooms to teach both science and literacy lessons! We are partnering with the Museum of the Diaspora and the Asian Art Museum to offer this two-part workshop.
What's your beat? Rhythm and Prose: Science and Celebration in Music & Instrument Making from Re-Purposed Materials - a 2-Part Professional Development Series
Join us for a SLANT-Themed workshop for ALL SFUSD Teachers of grades preK-5. Offered in partnership with the Asian Art Museum, the Museum of the Diaspora (MoAD), and Music in Schools Today (MUST), this 2-Day professional development series will address the history of cultural commemoration, the Science of Sound and the Arts of Story-telling, Instrument-building and Musical performance while connecting to the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts.
We are also working with the Mission Science Workshop to offer an additional workshop in the coming months and spread music integration into more San Francisco and Bay Area classrooms!
