This project aims to shape the Orquesta Sinfonica de Cartagena de Indias, seeking young symphonic instrumentalists to complement, consolidate and develop their musical training, through an experience of artistic and formative immersion. Likewise, it aims to be a point of reference and opportunity for professional, social and cultural growth for students and music practitioners.
Cartagena de Indias is a city with potential development scenarios. However, the lack of opportunities that face young talented musicians in Cartagena de Indias is vast, and the access to cultural manifestations is low. The City needs to articulate well with the new-named Orange Economy and boost its young population talents towards the creative industries. It will bring social, cultural and economic benefits to its new generations.
For the first time in history, Cartagena de Indias will see its Symphonic Orchestra officially settled. A musical institution that will strengthen the artistic and cultural content that the city offers. The orchestra will be conformed by young local artists whose careers will be boost and goals achieved. They and their families will benefit directly. Many others as well as it constitutes a reference point for similar projects to come.
The creative industries will play a more significant role. The project will benefit 45 young musicians in Cartagena de Indias and their families by creating a space to develop and boost their talent and career. It will increase the educational and cultural content of the city and will modify and strengthen the image of Cartagena de Indias.
