My name is Najah and I am a refugee, born and raised in a refugee camp in Rafah in the Gaza Strip. I have been providing services to empower women in Rafah, Gaza for over 19 years as the Executive Director of the Women Programs Center-Rafah. Right now, a million people are taking refuge here, in southern Gaza and bombing is underway. Healthy, protein-based meals for displaced families make all the difference. A single meal feeds a family of 6. Please, help my team feed 400 families/day.
We've seen hard times before but nothing like this. Because of the widespread bombings, the Gaza Strip is in rubble. Over a million people are displaced in Gaza, taking refuge in UN schools or relatives' homes in the South. These displaced people have no money and no food. I feel like I have to do this because these are my people, and I have to do all I can. We are all exhausted but we must keep going. Families are hungry. Please help me feed them.
We are cooking at 2 different kitchens so we can serve in 2 locations. One is our professional kitchen and the other is in a kitchen in the Tel al Sultan neighborhood in Rafah. We're cooking with propane gas but when that runs out, we're cooking with wood as the fuel. We then pack and deliver fresh to families taking shelter in UNRWA schools nearby. Each day, we deliver 200 protein-rich meals.
We purchase on credit, with the promise that Rebuilding Alliance will repay them once the ceasefire arrives - and that's why we need your help. We're cooking, trusting that you'll donate now to reimburse the suppliers. We hope that the world will apply International Human Rights Law to Gaza soon to bring this to an end so we can live our lives and live in peace and justice.
