To response timely by the victims of GBV & Child Marriage is critical and many cases are neglected because of transportation issues to get access of the victim to service providers. The project will respond to phone calls from Women victims, evaluate their needs, and transport them to the appropriate service provider by establishing & managing a Mobile Crises Unit which will also work as Awareness Van. The Project will in 3 Districts of Southern Punjab. Overseas Pakistanis are supporting.
Gender injustice is the major root cause of different forms of violence against women especially against rural poor. Among other factors, forced marriages and conflicts over issues related to women's property/inheritance rights are closely linked with broader issues of violence against women and their social and economic empowerment. The incidence of violence is very common and not tackling under government initiatives. Mobile Crises Unit will respond to phone calls in 3 District of South Punjab
3 Vans will be equipped with Communication & Multimedia system and a helpline will be launched in collaboration with Government of Punjab. Police officer/Front Desk officers will be engaged in 6 District for reporting the issues of GBV and early marriage. These Mobile Crises vans will rescue these victims and presented them to court and shelter homes of government driven. These units will follow-up their court proceeding. These Mobile vans will work as awareness vans when they in the field.
Local community groups are organized and their capacity is built around the women rights in general and detect, protect and respond to the incidents of GBV, child marriage and denial of women right to inheritance in particular The Local communities are aware of the issues of GBV, early and child marriage and women right to inheritance. Social-psychological support and counseling will be provided to victims of violence and violations of human rights.
