We’ve been busy! Through the work of our members and the generosity of you, our donors, we’ve already put a sizable dent in our yearly goal, and we still have more plans for the rest of this semester. Our semester was kicked off as new members joined, and we got to work on organizing the campaigns we had planned. The first campaign that we got to was our 5k Run, followed by a Fall Festival, and most recently a Benefit Dinner with an art auction attached. As always, all of the funds we raised through our campaigns will be sent to the Haitian birthing clinic that we are partnered with, Maison de Naissance.
Our members have had a lot of additional motivation this semester through what we learned from the members that went on the Grass Roots On-sight Work Internship (GROW Trip), in addition to the news that Maison de Naissance was facing a suspension of services due to issues with expenses. As a result, the campaigns that we’ve put out so far throughout this semester have been met with a lot of enthusiasm on both the part of our own GlobeMed members, and the donors who participated in the event. In addition to our regular campaigns, we are also currently working on our Individual Giving campaign in order to encourage individuals to donate to Maison de Naissance. The idea for this Individual Giving campaign is to explain why we, as GlobeMed members, care about and give to the Haitian birthing clinic that we’re partnered with, and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
Thanks to the work that our members put in, and the amazing support that we’ve received, we’re already well on our way to achieving this year’s goal of raising $10,000 for the Maison de Naissance birthing clinic. As always, we’re very excited for our future campaigns and projects. We’re currently planning what we’ll be doing next semester in order to keep raising money for Haitian mothers and babies. The contributions we receive from you, the donors, are what makes all of this possible. No one can thank you enough for the difference you all help to make.
