What is the price of water? That is probably valued differently based on your perspective. In Mkuze South Africa, they have never known what it was like to drink clean water. They didn't even have available water all year round. Now that we have installed a 400 foot deep well, for the first time, they now experience what most people in developed countries take for granted. Fresh clean water when ever they want it. When the well began working for the first time, I received a call from Isaac. With excitement he said “Mr. Adams Mr. Adams, we hit water. The water is so clean you can see clear through it”. Think about that. His excitement of clear water. Just imagine that excitement. This is something half the world takes for granted while the other half experiences the hardship of water borne disease and lack of water in their daily lives.
This is part of bringing hope. Now that we have the deep water well, that helps not only with basic needs but with education. Before they got water by the girls and women spending 8 to 10 hours a day fetching water 9 miles from the village. With a deep water well, they don’t have to do that any more. They can join the boys and go to school.
We are now actively working towards making that a reality in Mkuze. Please join us in an effort to create the beginnings of a sustainable future for the people of Mkuze, South Africa. They truly want what you and I want, a better future for our children.
