The small village of Kitandwe is found perched on the top of the hill, with panoramic views, including across the valley towards Lake Wamala, in central Uganda.
The people are mainly pesant farmers, living off the land. Many of the children dont attend school becuase their parents fail to find school fees.
But the greatest challenge facing this community was access to water. It is usually the job of the young children to fetch water. Their nearest source was a dirty pond at the bottom of the steep hill, about 20 minutes walk away.
Many people were falling sick because of the contaminated water since the pond was also th watering hole for many animals. The goat feces could be seen at the pond edges, as a cow urinated as he drank of the water. And even the children fear to go there because they have seen snakes in the water.
But thankfully Mission 4 Water has been able to provide a borehole for this village, to provide clean and safe water to the 300+ households and even neighbouring villages now come to enjoy. This has all been possible thanks to the kind donations of people like you.
"Water is Life" - thats what they say, and it's true. These children and their families can now enjoy the wonderful blessing of clean and safe water.
There are many other villages like Kitandwe which are also praying for such a gift. Can you help, please?
