This project intends to awake the conscience and amplify the United Nations Mapping Report which highlited genocide against Hutus Refugees in DRC since 1996 up to now by Rwanda Army. we want to start the debate to end the plight of Hutus refugees in DRC and start a new chapter which will focus of effective protection of refugees in DRC. We want people to reflect on that ugly history, draw and lesson and propose better ways to handle and manage refugee situation in DRC and advocate for reparation
Since 1994 DRC hosted millions of Hutus refugees from Rwanda who remain not yet identified, we estimate that they are around 4million, their conditions of life remains also a disaster. Over the years Rwanda has used their presence in order to justify wars in DRC which led to massacre of more than 12million Congolese, while no clear information is available about refugees apart from the light information from the UN Mapping Report We want the massacres of refugees in DRC to stop.
This project will evaluate the situation of Hutus refugees from Rwandan since 1994 up to now, what was done, how was it done, what went wrong and how best we can correct the mistakes in order to create a better environment for the protection of refugees. This project seeks to improve how refugees are being considered in order to end tensions between Rwanda and DRCongo and build peace, if refugees are the cause for war, then we can solve this through a proper management of refugees in DRC.
This will solve the existing problems and put in place all the durable solutions for refugees, help us not to repeat the same mistakes, seek for justice and reparation and foster a better future together.
