The welcome center for children with disabilities "Maria Cristina Alonso", from Cochabamba - Bolivia, hosts 86 abandoned children with disabilities. The center has the hard task of answering to all their needs: food, clothes, accommodation an especially medicines to improve their quality of live. However, the center does not have resources to satisfy all those needs and the project will support the collection of medical supplies.
The problem is the lack of medicines that generates cuts and delays in the treatment of children, which negatively affects to their health. The medicines bought last year by the Center last very little due to the high need of medical treatments by the children. The project aims promote complete health care to the children with disabilities of the Maria Cristina Alonso Center, improving the availability of essential medical supplies.
The Project provide medical supplies for 86 children with disability for 1 year. To identify and buy the medical supplies that are most in demand, the Tukuy Pacha physiotherapist will verify the different needs that children with disabilities have in relation to medical treatments. This analysis will be implemented jointly with the Maria Cristina Alonso Center staff, who work day by day with the children and know their most urgent needs in terms of health.
86 children with disabilities will benefit with a better availability of medical supplies. The amount of medicines that will be donated to the center will help, approximately one year in the continuity of medical treatments for their beneficiaries, generating greater stability in the health care process, which affects the general state of health of the entire community that lives in the Maria Cristina Alonso Center.
