This year started off with troubling news for Spirit Acres. On January 19, a couple out for an afternoon walk discovered several horse carcasses on a wooded lot in the area of Magnolia, Texas. Part of what Spirit Acres can do is investigate, assist law enforcement and neighbors. There were no survivors in this terrible tragedy, however, we are keeping an eye on the field next to this death site. We are trained well in emergency rescue procedures. We also have an older mare from another region due to arrive at Spirit Acres to nurse back to health who was just being left to die. We have high hopes for her recovery.
These situations are the order of the day for our rescue organization. But they do add further stress to our already tight budget in caring for those in our charge. We appreciate your support through your Global Giving donations.
