Mustang Sally bares the original BLM freeze mark that identifies her as part of the legacy of the old west. Poor Sally fell in an accident while the farrier was trimming her hooves. When she fell her neck was punctured on the farrier’s stand. Aside from the damage to her neck and neck muscles, the fall fractured her 6th vertebrae. The fast action on everyone’s part was a big step to saving her life and her steady recovery can be attributed to her determination and the special care she is getting from those who love this special horse. Check out her story and see her pictures and progress on face book. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Spirit-Acres-Farm-Equine-Rescue-and-Sanctuary/296418097416. Sally’s recovery for these 4 weeks is not without extra cost. In addition to Veterinarian visits and supplies to keep the wound clean and free of flies, her treatment includes electrolytes, probiotics, pain meds and antibiotics. Our medical needs here at the farm average about $500 a month. Please help us keep Sally and others here with special medical needs stay healthy.
