The project ensures maternal health through reproductive health and family planning services for 600 women, girls and family members
Though maternal deaths are not usually reported, direct deaths resulting from obstetric complications of the pregnant state are common in Sidama zone. Hemorrhage, sepsis, toxemia, obstructed labor and abortions are the main causes of direct maternal mortality.
Ensuring reproductive health right and provision of family planning services is an essential component to assist women in avoiding unintended pregnancies in the future.
Women, girls and family members will make informed choices and get access to family planning services. Traditional birth attendants and community health workers will serve in each village.
