Summary

Your donations will provide 7500 eco-friendly reusable menstrual kits to 7500 girls in Tororo district in eastern Uganda. With access to sustainable menstrual cups and pads, girls can attend school regularly without fear of staining uniforms, leaks or discomfort. Challenge

Managing menstruation safely, hygienically, and with dignity is a challenge to most girls in low income families. This was exacerbated by the covid19 pandemic. All of these constraints can lead to poor menstrual health management and significant health and psychosocial implications for women and girls including social exclusion and vulnerability.

Solution

Girls are able to menstruate with dignity when they have access to safe menstrual hygiene materials. Your support for this project provides girls quality washable sanitary pads and important reproductive health, hygiene and safe spaces for managing menstruation.

Long-Term Impact

This affects current and future generations of women and men, playing an imperative role in breaking the cycle of Period poverty. Communities are empowered to discuss and provide feminine hygiene, health and sanitation for themselves and others.
