This project will complete the construction two Shea butter processing Centres to serve women in two cluster rural communities in the Bole district of Ghana. The project will provide rural women opportunity for off season livelihood diversification strategy, increase production efficiency and effectiveness and incomes through the use of improved technology to reduce their climate change vulnerability to guarantee long term livelihood improvement.
This Foundation is currently constructing two Shea butter processing centres for rural women in two communities in the Bole district of Ghana. Available fund is not able to complete construction works. completion date for construction works and installation of machinery is end of January, 2019. By the urgency of the situation, we are making special appeal for donation to help fund the completion of the project buildings on Schedule .
Two Shea butter processing Centres will be completed for the women to process their nuts. Rural women will have access to modern processing centres to be owned by their co-operative. More women will be encouraged to process their Shea nuts. The project will improve the health and incomes of women.
500 rural women will be able to add value to their raw Shea nuts and earn better incomes. Processing of Shea nuts into butter is a value-addition activity that will lead to increased incomes and employment for women and their household to reduce poverty and climate change vulnerability among them.
