A large number of rural children in Ghana are studying sitting and writing on the bare floor. This picture is very pathetic and disturbing. We are currently seeking for your kind support to help provide over 3500 school children with furniture, books for a library and ICT in Savelegu and Tolon municipalities near Tamale in Ghana. Challenge

We need help for furniture for schools. A large number of school children in Ghana sitting and writing on the bare floor during classes. This picture is very pathetic and disturbing. We are currently seeking for your kind support to help provide over 3500 school children with furniture, books for a library and ICT in Savelugu and Tolon municipalities near Tamale in Ghana. We would be very grateful for any contribution that you are able to make towards helping these poor school children.

Solution

Our project is designed to help school children in rural Ghana receive school furniture, solar energy systems that will provide electricity for lighting, which will enable classes to be taught early in the morning or late at night. Electricity access will facilitate the introduction of ICTs into the classroom such as computers. This project will help gift-quality educational opportunities to under-resourced rural children in Ghana.

Long-Term Impact

The potential long-term impact of our project will be as follows: 1. More rural children will have the opportunity to study 2. Rural school children will be studying sitting on chairs and writing on tables. 3. Facilitation of ICT in the classrooms. 4. Better school performance based on attendance, completion rates, and Education test scores. 5. Co-benefits such as improved sanitation and health, gender empowerment and resilience of girls and young women.
