The aim of our association is to provide services for our Deaf members so they can become equal members of society with equal rights as their hearing counterparts. Deaf people need to know how to use technology in order to communicate better with each other. Also our society needs to have a heightened awareness around the daily lives of those impacted by hearing impairment. Therefore, another important goal of our association is to educate the hearing public as to the needs of Deaf people.
At present there is a communication barrier between hearing and Deaf people. This results in a lack of understanding between these two groups of people. It is important for hearing people to learn sign language and for Deaf people to improve their written skills. In today's world technology is an important medium through which Deaf and hearing people can communicate.
This problem can be addressed by hearing people learning sign language, so they can communicate with Deaf people in their own language. Also if Deaf people learn how to use the new technological advances specific for disabled people, their quality of life will be improved and the isolation that keeps them apart for the normal society will be reduced. They can thereby become equal members of society.
When hearing people learn sign language, the communication barrier between the Deaf and hearing will be minimized, and hearing people will be able to communicate with Deaf people in their own language. Also if Deaf people learn how to use the new technological advances specific for disabled people, their quality of life will be improved and the isolation that keeps them apart for the normal society will be reduced. They can thereby become equal members of society.
