The North Clackamas Lunch Buddy program has had a steady stream of new volunteers throughout this school year. We are currently at 78 Buddy matches for the year and 26 of those adults are new to the program. We have had only 2 matches end during this year and both of those were due to the adult changing jobs. We are currently working on getting our end of year celebration planned.
The Lunch Buddy program has been going through a quality based mentoring program training with Oregon Mentors this year. In this training, we are working on adapting our current practices so they aline with the best practice standards in youth mentoring. This has been a huge undertaking but will strengthen the services the Lunch Buddy program is able to offer the youth in our school district when we are finished with it.
