Youth who meet regularly with mentors are: 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs than their peers, 27% less likely to drink alcohol, 33% less likely to engage in violence. Our kids need you!
The Lunch Buddy program focuses on helping children who have low self esteem, struggle with friendships, lack social skills, are having trouble in school and/or come from a distressed family.
Lunch Buddies provide friendship, support and positive role modeling for children in order to enhance self-esteem, promote resiliency and a healthy lifestyle.
Young children who have had a mentor are shown to do better in school, have more positive attitudes and are less likely to use drugs or alcohol or engage in violence. We currently serve between 65-85 elementary school aged children in the North Clackamas School District every school year. There are children on waiting lists at every school.
