The project will promote sustainable livelihood to120 poor women and girls (15-35 years) age group in Biharsharif block, Nalanda, Bihar through 12 months training in tailoring and embroidery skills that will help them to generate income for their own cause. Good scope of employment/self-employment exists in the area. The project will eliminate poverty at household by promoting sustainable livelihood. The poor women and girls will self-dependent and self-supporting after training.
Biharsharif block in Nalanda district in Bihar is compounded with problems like poverty, unemployment and low literacy level. Female literacy is 69.28%. Poverty is extreme among the poor communities (scheduled caste, backward caste and Muslims) who are economically and educationally backward. Because of poverty, migration is prominent among males. Women are less preferred in the family because of their non-involvement in economic activities. Hence, they get lesser opportunity of development.
Skill development is the main solution of unemployment. Therefore, 120 poor women and girls will provided skill training in tailoring and embroidery trades. After training, the target groups will become self-employed/employed and earn income and will easily meet their basic requirements. Their status in the family and society will improve at large. These women and girls will beat their economic deprivation and their living standard will improve.
120 poor women and girls will become economically prosperous after skill training. They will begin to realize their full potentials and capabilities. Their motivation will improve that help them to earn with sustainability. Assured livelihood will promoted that helps in eliminating poverty and improve living standard.
