Livelihood for 500 disabled mothers
By A.C.Alexander | CEO
The project is doing well with the continued support recieved through our valuable donors and Globalgiving. We wish to record our sincere thanks to Globalgiving and our esteemed donors who had been donating continuously inspite of the global recession.
Our is a project for the less fortunate one.Our main photograph shows how happy the mother is with her little son because she can look after him while earning something for the family. It was the help given by our donors which made these people happy. We have another beautiful photograph of Two grown up girls who make a living through brass pot making. One is physically handicapped(lower limb) and her sister is deaf & dumb. These are the heart warming stories that we can offer you. We have many more such beautiful stories of empowerment.
We hope to publish all these real heroes in life who set an example for others instead of cursing the disability. Our aim is remove the "dis" and make them abled. Our dear donors you play a vital role to reach our goal of making the 500 disabled or disabled mothers to stand on their own legs.
We have to go a long way... still we believe that a thousand miles starts with a single step.
We look forward to your continued support and good wishes,
A.C.Alexander

Livelihood projects
By Andukunnel Alexander | CEO
Twenty of our clients-Mothers of disabled children- received support to start their own livelihood program. Many of them have set up tailoring centers and others run small petty shops. Some sell vegetables or snacks. But most of them make a living. Most of the donors must be happy that with small amount of money like $250 peoples lives can be changed. These women today look forward with hope that they have something to lean on and look forward to improve their lives. We along with our clients thank our donors and request them to support us further till we reach our target. We are hopeful that we can reach our target with everyones cooperation and support from Global giving.
We wanted to support the mothers with severely disabled children by starting a Day Care Center but it remains as a dream .Because of the financial problems we are not going ahead with the project.Even though it would have been wonderful to start such a center because these poor illiterate women do not know how to take care of them. And these children do not get their rights to equal opportunity and justice.
To fulfill our dream we need some big donors. Those who read this report perhaps could motivate someone! who knows.. miracles can happen....

Mothers of severely disabled children
Severely disabled children are brought to the centre for physiotherapy as well as training .Usually the mothers bring them. They come from various villages.Bringing these children to the centre is a problem. We are looking for support to purchase a small vehicle so that these children can be picked up from their home and dropped back.It will cost $7500.
We are yet awaiting for some kind of support for this center. We have identified about 45 severely disabled children.Parents are in no way able to help these children. They cannot take these children to specialized centers which are far away and they do not have the means to take them there and pay for the expenses.Hence our humble effort to provide them with a Day Care center. We shaal be ever thankful to our donors if they could help us realize this dream!
